Some issues of energy-saving ventilation

The massive use of modern airproof energy-saving double glass window panes creates a problem with indoor ventilation – natural ventilation does not work because double glass window panes are airproof, which leads to violation of heat transfer hygienic norms. As the result oxygen content in the air is decreasing, carbon dioxide content, nitrogen content and radon content are increasing, which is harmful for human health. Besides, relative air humidity is rising, which leads to the emergence of mould and other harmful bacteria and microorganisms. The use of standard ventilation units leads to heat loss, so double glass window panes become not so airproof as they should be.

Compact and efficient recuperators - TeFo 

Decentralized recuperators (heat recovery units) are the units that can provide both efficient ventilation and high energy saving ratio. “Teplo'obmen” has developed a new  decentralized recuperator on the basis of TTAI heat exchangers. During 2003-2004 a series of tests were carried out in the climatic chamber certified by the State Committee of Ukraine for Standardization. The test protocols can be downloaded from our site.

Our recuperators inherit the main features of TTAI heat exchangers – they are compact, efficient and reliable in operation. TeFo recuperators ensure inflow of fresh air and removal of stale air, at the same time providing high energy saving ratio and heat comfort in a premise.

Actual Performance Figures 

The energy saving ratio of our recuperators is more than 75%.

Data obtained in a series of tests made it possible to create an innovative mathematical model and form a set of four standard size types of TeFo recuperators:

TeFo1 with air flow rate of 35 – 37 m3/h
TeFo2 with air flow rate of 39 – 41 m3/h
TeFo3 with air flow rate of 90 – 105 m3/h
TeFo4 with air flow rate of about 130 m3/h

It should be mentioned, that it is possible to obtain any theoretically admissible ratio of energy saving by varying the length of a recuperator. It gives a possibility of optimal selection of TeFo for every specific purpose.
